Matt Minikus grew up in a musical Adventist home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After experiencing a dramatic conversion at 19, he dedicated his life and musical talents to the service of God. For more than five years he traveled North America serving alongside his friends and mentors, David Asscherick and Matt Parra, in youth ministry and evangelism. In 2002 he met Josie, the beautiful young woman who was to be his wife (though it would take six years). Matt and Josie, who is also very musically talented, are what we here at ARISE call “musicianaries”, that is, musicians who use their talents as missionaries for God. Their newest album, Prodigal: The Journey Home, is now available. Matt is very, very good at making outrageous faces. The next time you see him, ask him to demonstrate one for you.
